You proud Grossau tower rises steeply into the blue sky
You have boldly defied many a storm of time.
The fathers of Großau built you out of heavy blocks,
They piled you out of rock – to God’s honor.
So you stand out in our great battle-torn times
As a reminder – of strength and unity.
And deciduous lies the world beneath you,
golden sheaves in the field.
That God’s faithfulness has stood the test of time,
and will remain as it is now for all time,
Be strong, my people! Reflect on your new
way and stay true to yourself.
Believe in God and in your own future,
Then you will still be alive when the Grossau Tower has long since turned to dust!
For the life of man will fade in time,
the life of the people will last forever!
