Membership
What you move
As the local community of Großau, we are a member of the Association of Local Communities of the Transylvanian Saxons. The HOGs and their members are supra-regional associations. The tasks and focal points are the cultivation of customs and relations between the members as well as the support of the church communities in Transylvania. The Association of Transylvanian Saxon Home Communities is a member of the Association of Transylvanian Saxons in Germany e.V., which protects and represents the interests of its members in negotiations of various kinds. These can be negotiations on pension entitlements or public appearances of the Transylvanian Saxons. Other focal points are youth work as well as cultural and social work (e.g. the five Transylvanian retirement homes in Germany).
It is no secret that our fortified church in Großau is one of the jewels in Transylvania and is extremely popular and admired by tourists. Our HOG and its members also make a small contribution to this. But the greatest merit is due to the parish of Großau and all those in Großau who ensure that we are all still welcome and feel at home in a little paradise of our roots. This also includes all our HOG members who support and promote the preservation of this jewel with their contribution. So the more fellow campaigners, i.e. members of the community, who support the same sentiment and cause, the longer we will be able to fall back on this home spot.
